11th International Conference of Maritime Law – Participation of Prof. L.I.Athanassiou

AG Law Partner and Professor L. I. Athanasiou, President of the Organizing Committee, participated in the 11th International Conference of Maritime Law, organized by the Piraeus Bar Association and held on October 2-4, 2025 at the Eugenides Foundation, on the topic “Maritime Risks Revisited”.

Prof. Athanassiou served as President of the 1st Session and as Speaker of the 10th Session. The Conference was honored by the presence of prominent figures of the judicial and academic fields, representatives and executives of international organizations and distinguished lawyers, from Greece and abroad.

Prof. Athanassiou delivered a presentation on ” Contractual clauses, liability, and the treatment of claims arising from the decarbonization regime in shipping” to a panel of distinguished speakers, including Mr. John Kokarakis, Technical Director, SEEBA Zone, Bureau Veritas, and Mr. Henning Jessen, Professor of WMU (World Maritime University, Malmö – Sweden), under the coordination of Mr. Haris Fafalios, Chairman of the Greek Shipping Co-operation Committee.
