PARTICIPATION OF THE PARTNER, PROF. L.I. ATHANASIOU, IN THE EVENT FOR THE 20 YEARS OF MLC

The Partner, Professor Lia Athanasiou participated as Coordinator of the Thematic Discussions in the International Symposium on the 20th Anniversary of the International Labour Convention (MLC, 2006), co-organized by the Panhellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) and the Federation of Transport, Petroleum and Agricultural Workers (OMEPEGE).

The main topics discussed were the International Challenges for the Future of MLC, as well as the footprint and legacy of the Convention in Greece and EU cabotage.

The event was attended by representatives of the Seafarers from Greece and Cyprus, the ITF, the ETF and the ILO, representatives of the political leadership of Greece and Cyprus, a delegation of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, representatives of the shipping world while the Directors of the ICS and the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping of Greece were also present.
