10th International Conference of Maritime Law – Prof. Lia Athanassiou
Professor Lia Athanassiou, President of the Conference’s Organizing Committee, participated as a Speaker in the 10th International Conference of Maritime Law, organized by the Piraeus Bar Association and held from 26 to 28 May 2022 at the Eugenides Foundation with the theme titled “Protecting maritime operators in a changing regulatory and technological environment”. Participants included well-respected personalities of the judicial and academic world, representatives and executives of international organizations and eminent lawyers.
Mrs Athanassiou presented her speech on the topic of “The impact of COVID-19 on ships’ operation: legal assessment” in a panel of distinguished Speakers and, more precisely, Mr. Lars Robert Pedersen, Deputy Secretary General of BIMCO, and Mr. Tomas Heidar, Vice-President of the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), under the chairmanship of Mr. Leonidas Demetriades-Eugenides.
