New development in litigation between Macedonian Thrace Brewery and Heineken and its Greek subsidiary

By its decision of 16 February 2021 on the competition litigation between Macedonian Thrace Brewery (MTB) and Heineken N.V. and its Greek subsidiary Athenian Brewery (AB), the Amsterdam Court of Appeal reversed a judgment of the Amsterdam District Court on jurisdiction pursuant to article 8.1 Brussels I-recast. The Amsterdam Court of Appeal made it clear that the claims brought by MTB against Heineken N.V. and its AB have the same basis. The judgment which the Amsterdam District Court will hand down on the merits of this case is awaited with interest.
