Νew Private Maritime Code

The new Private Maritime Code was voted on Friday 3 February 2023 by the Plenary of the Parliament. According to the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Yannis Plakiotakis, “the new Code, which was reformed after 65 years, brings the regulatory framework of shipping into the 21st century”. Professor L.I.Athanasiou chaired for two years the Legislative Committee that drafted the bill.
